Caffeine offers a free plan and three paid tiers: Host and Studio for individuals, and Business for teams. All plans include access to the App Market for browsing and remixing apps. Host and Studio both include the core paid builder experience, while Studio is the plan for publishing your own apps to the App Market. Business includes everything in Studio plus a shared team workspace for building together.
Annual billing saves approximately 20% compared to monthly.
Free
Explore Caffeine and remix apps from the App Market. Includes 15 welcome credits at signup, valid for 30 days. Up to 3 projects, and up to 3 drafts per project. Free is for trying Caffeine through remixing existing App Market apps — starting a new app from scratch requires a paid plan.
Host
Monthly subscription credits for regular builders. Host is $5 monthly, $2 for the first month, or $4 per month on annual billing, and includes 20 credits per month. Includes the core paid building experience, including building from scratch, live apps, bring your own domain, email sending, and app analytics.
Studio
Higher monthly subscription credits than Host. Studio is $25 monthly, $10 for the first month, or $20 per month on annual billing, and includes 100 credits per month. Everything in Host, plus custom domain purchases through Caffeine and App Market publishing with the ability to have your own apps listed publicly in the App Market.
Business
The plan for teams. Business is $250 per month and includes 1000 credits per month, shared across the team. It has everything in Studio, plus 5 seats included (more can be added), insights across all of your team's apps, roles and permissions, admin controls, and priority support.
Business gives your team its own shared team workspace — a separate space with its own projects, its own shared credit pool, and its own members. A team workspace is separate from your personal account: your personal projects are not shared into it, and team projects do not appear in your personal account. See Team Workspaces and the Business Plan.
To view or change your plan: Profile avatar (top right) → Membership / Upgrade.
Which plan should I choose?
Free is for exploring the platform and remixing apps from the App Market. You get 15 welcome credits at signup, valid for 30 days, can create up to 3 projects, and can have up to 3 drafts per project. Free is for remixing existing apps and trying Caffeine. Starting a new app from scratch requires a paid plan. No cost to sign up.
Host is for regular builders who want the paid builder features without publishing to the App Market. You get 20 credits per month, bring your own domain, email sending, and app analytics.
Studio is for creators who want to keep on shipping with higher credit limits, custom domain purchase through Caffeine, and App Market publishing. Studio includes 100 credits per month.
Paid-only features
Some features require any active paid subscription (Host or Studio):
- Building apps from scratch — starting a new project from a new conversation. Free users can still remix any App Market app and iterate on the remix, but starting from scratch requires paid access.
- Uploading code as a ZIP — replace your project's draft by uploading a ZIP file of your own code directly, without running an AI build
- Bring your own Domain - Configure your own domain name to your live app instead of using the default Caffeine URL
- Email sending — your app can send emails to users: transactional notifications, email verification, marketing newsletters, and calendar invitations
- App analytics — view visitor counts, session data, and a geographic breakdown for your live app
Premium Features
Some features require a Studio subscription:
- Custom domains — Purchase a custom domain directly through Caffeine and we will handle the hard work in the background
- App Market publishing - Publishing your own apps to the App Market.
App Marketplace
Browsing and remixing apps in the App Market is available on every plan, including the Free plan.
Introductory pricing
When you see a discounted first-month price on a paid monthly plan, it is an introductory offer. These offers are available to new subscribers only — specifically, users who have not previously subscribed to any paid plan. The offer applies once per account. If you have held a paid subscription before, the standard price applies when you subscribe again.
Upgrading your plan
Upgrades take effect immediately. When you upgrade mid-cycle, you are charged a prorated amount for the remainder of the current billing period — you pay only for the days remaining, not the full month. Your new plan's credit allowance is added to your account right away.
If you previously cancelled your subscription and it is scheduled to end at the close of your current billing period, upgrading removes that pending cancellation. Your subscription will no longer be set to cancel — it continues on the new plan as normal.
To upgrade: Profile avatar → Membership / Upgrade → select your new plan.
Some cards require an extra verification step when a payment is made — for example, a confirmation prompt from your bank. If your card requires this during an upgrade, Caffeine opens a Stripe-hosted payment page in a new browser tab where you can complete the verification. Once verification is done, your upgrade takes effect automatically.
You must have a verified email address before you can subscribe to a paid plan. If you have not yet confirmed your email, you will be prompted to do so when you try to upgrade. Check your inbox for a verification email from Caffeine, or request a new one from the confirmation screen.
Downgrading your plan
Downgrades are scheduled for the end of your current billing period. You keep your current plan's features until the period ends. When the downgrade takes effect, the lower plan's limits and features apply. If you downgrade from Studio to Host, your App Market listings are unpublished. Top-up and voucher credits are cancelled when your paid subscription ends, not when you switch between paid plans.
If your subscription is already set to cancel at the end of the current billing period, you can still schedule a downgrade to a lower paid plan — the downgrade takes effect at the period end as expected.
If you scheduled a downgrade and change your mind, you can cancel the pending downgrade from the same billing settings before the period ends.
Cancelling your subscription
To cancel: Profile avatar → Membership → manage via the Stripe Customer Portal.
Cancellation is also scheduled for the end of your current billing period. You continue to have full access to your current plan until then. After cancellation takes effect, your account reverts to the Free plan.
When cancellation takes effect, top-up and voucher credits are cancelled, live apps are unpublished, all App Market listings are moved to draft (including any still in review), and projects above the Free limit are blocked. Projects within the Free limit remain in your account.
Frequently asked questions
What are the differences between Free, Host, and Studio?
The main differences are credit volume, project limits, and whether you can publish to the App Market. Free gives 15 welcome credits at signup, valid for 30 days, a limit of 3 projects, and up to 3 drafts per project. Host includes 20 credits per month and the core paid builder features. Studio includes 100 credits per month plus App Market publishing.
Do paid plans include a monthly credit allowance?
Yes. Host includes 20 credits per month and Studio includes 100 credits per month. Free users receive 15 welcome credits at signup, valid for 30 days. Credits always renew monthly on paid plans — even if you are on annual billing, your subscription balance is topped up every month on your renewal date, not once a year. Unused subscription credits carry forward up to your plan's cap; see Understanding Credits.
Which plans include custom domains, email sending, and app analytics?
Host and Studio. Host supports bring your own domain. Studio supports both bring your own domain and buying a domain through Caffeine.
Which plan includes App Market publishing?
Studio. Host does not include public App Market publishing.
Can I upgrade or downgrade at any time?
Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep your current plan's benefits until then.
A new tab opened during my upgrade — what happened?
Your card required an extra verification step. Caffeine opened a Stripe-hosted payment page in a new browser tab so you could complete the verification (for example, a confirmation from your bank). Once you approve the payment there, your plan upgrade takes effect automatically. If you closed the tab before completing the step, try the upgrade again.
What is proration?
Proration means you are charged only for the portion of a billing period you use at a given plan level. If you upgrade halfway through a monthly cycle, you pay only for the remaining time at the higher plan.
Can I switch between monthly and annual billing?
Yes. Switching takes effect immediately and is prorated — you are charged only for the remaining time at the new rate. Your billing cycle resets from the date of the switch.
What happens to paid features if I downgrade or cancel?
They stop working at the end of your billing period. Email sending is disabled, analytics stops tracking, live apps are unpublished, and App Market listings (including any still in review) are moved to draft where they exceed the new plan's limit. If your subscription fully ends, all listings are moved to draft, top-up and voucher credits are cancelled, and projects above the Free limit are blocked.
Why do I still see my old plan after downgrading?
Downgrades take effect at the end of your billing period, not immediately. You will continue to see and use your current plan until the period ends.
Can I cancel a pending downgrade?
Yes. Go to Profile avatar → Membership and manage via the Stripe Customer Portal. You can cancel a scheduled downgrade before the billing period ends.
Do I need to verify my email before upgrading?
Yes. You must confirm your email address before you can subscribe to a paid plan. If your email is not yet verified, Caffeine will prompt you to complete that step when you try to upgrade. Check your inbox for the verification email, or request a new one from the confirmation screen.
How many projects can I have?
Free accounts can have up to 3 projects and up to 3 drafts per project. Paid plans (Host, Studio, and Business) support unlimited projects for normal use. If you reach the limit on your plan, you will need to delete an existing project or upgrade before creating a new one.
What is the Business plan?
Business is Caffeine's plan for teams. It is $250 per month, includes 1000 shared credits per month, everything in Studio, 5 seats (more can be added), insights across all of your team's apps, roles and permissions, admin controls, and priority support. Its defining feature is a shared team workspace where a team builds together. See Team Workspaces and the Business Plan.
If I subscribe to Business, do my personal projects come with me?
No. The Business plan creates a separate team workspace with its own projects and its own shared credits. It is a separate space from your personal account, so your existing personal projects are not shared into, copied to, or moved into the team workspace. Your personal projects stay in your personal account and remain available there — switch back to your personal context using the workspace switcher to find them. If you want a project in the team workspace, build it there.
Are team workspace projects and credits separate from my personal ones?
Yes. A team workspace has its own projects and its own shared monthly credit pool, both separate from your personal account. Each context — personal or team — shows only its own projects and uses only its own credits.
Where is priority support on the Business plan?
Priority support is included with Business, but it is not a separate button or screen in the app. Contact support the usual way from Profile avatar → Get help; requests from Business accounts are recognized and prioritized automatically.
Is there a free trial of paid features?
There is no separate free trial of paid features. The Free plan lets you try Caffeine by remixing apps from the App Market using your 15 welcome credits.
Can I build a new app from scratch on the Free plan?
No. Starting a new project from scratch requires an active paid subscription (Host or Studio). The recommended Free-plan path is to remix an app from the App Market: remixing copies an existing app into your account as a new project, and you can then iterate on it with your available credits. If you try to build from scratch without paid access, Caffeine posts a message in the chat telling you to subscribe, with Subscribe and Browse the App Market buttons, and no build runs.
Why can't I start a new app from scratch on Free?
Free is for remixing existing App Market apps and trying Caffeine with your welcome credits. Starting a new app from scratch requires Host or Studio. If you would rather not subscribe, remix an App Market app instead — it lands in your account as a new project that you can shape with your available credits.
Are introductory prices available to everyone?
No. Introductory discounts are available to new subscribers only — users who have not previously held a paid Caffeine plan. The offer applies once per account. If you have subscribed before, the standard price applies.
Why am I being asked to verify my email before upgrading?
A confirmed email address is required before you can subscribe to a paid plan. If you see a prompt asking you to verify your email, check your inbox for the confirmation message and click the link inside it. Once your email is confirmed, return to the upgrade flow and select your plan.
Can I keep using Caffeine after cancelling?
Yes. After cancellation you move to the Free plan. Top-up and voucher credits are cancelled, live apps are unpublished, all App Market listings are moved to draft (including any still in review), and projects above the Free limit are blocked. Projects within the Free limit remain in your account.
