Building your first app on Caffeine takes minutes. You describe what you want in a chat conversation, the AI generates the full application — frontend, backend, and data layer — and your app appears at its own URL. From there, you keep chatting to refine it.
No account setup, no configuration, no coding. Just describe and build.
How the interface works
The Caffeine interface works like a messaging app. Each conversation corresponds to one app. You type what you want, the AI builds it, and you continue the conversation to make changes.
Basic flow:
- Start a new conversation and describe the app you want to build
- The AI works for a short while — typically a few minutes — then your app appears in draft. You can watch the build progress in real time, seeing which tasks are running, completing, or being retried.
- Continue chatting to add features, change the design, fix things, or adjust behavior. You can also send messages while a build is running — to add context, change direction, or stop the build entirely.
- When you are happy with your changes, push them from draft to live
You can run multiple conversations in parallel, building or updating different apps at the same time.
Draft and live mode
Every Caffeine app has two versions running at once:
Draft is where you work. All changes happen here first. The draft is a temporary environment — it is reclaimed if you are not actively using it, and draft data does not persist the same way live data does.
Live is the permanent, production version your users access. Live data persists as long as your subscription is active.
When you are happy with your draft, use the Go Live button to push your changes to the live version. Caffeine handles any necessary data migration automatically. Always test your changes in draft before going live — once changes are published, your real users will see them immediately.
The free tier
The Free plan is for exploring Caffeine and remixing apps from the App Market. Free users receive 10 welcome credits at signup, valid for 30 days.
On the Free plan, the easiest way to start building is to remix an app from the App Market — pick anything you like, click Remix, and Caffeine clones it into your account as a new project that you can shape with your available credits. Starting a new app from scratch is a separate case: it requires an active paid subscription (Host or Studio). There is no separate trial period and no time limit on the Free tier.
Paid plans add a monthly credit allowance, unlock building apps from scratch, and include premium features like custom domains, email sending, and app analytics.
Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to build an app?
The first version of a simple app typically takes one to a few minutes. More complex apps may take longer. Subsequent updates are usually faster since the AI already has context about your app. Build times continue to improve as the AI gets better.
Do I need any technical skills?
No. Caffeine is designed for anyone who can describe what they want in plain language. No coding, no configuration, and no technical knowledge required.
Is there a free trial?
There is no separate trial period — the Free plan is the trial. You get 10 welcome credits at signup, valid for 30 days, so you can build real apps and test the platform before committing to a paid plan.
What happens when I run out of credits?
You can still view and share your apps, but you cannot trigger new builds until credits are available again. Free users can subscribe to a paid plan for monthly subscription credits. On paid plans, you can also purchase additional top-up credits at any time.
Starting a new app from scratch is a separate case: it requires an active paid subscription (Host or Studio) even when your credit balance looks healthy. Remixing from the App Market lets Free-plan users iterate on existing projects, but it does not unlock building from scratch. If you try to build from scratch without the required access, Caffeine posts a message in the chat asking you to subscribe — with Subscribe and Browse the App Market buttons — and no build runs.
Can I work on multiple apps at once?
Yes. Start a separate conversation for each app. You can build, update, and switch between multiple apps in parallel.
How do I delete a project?
Click the project tile or avatar to open its settings, then choose the delete option. Warning: deleting a project permanently deletes both the draft and live versions of the app, including all data. This cannot be undone. Your first project — the one created when you joined — cannot be deleted; the delete option does not appear for it.
How do I rename a project?
Ask in the chat: "Please rename this project to [new name]." The AI will rename it immediately.
